Karina Veaudry has 25 years of experience as a Landscape Architect and is licensed in five states. Her resume includes park planning and design, municipal, commercial, greenways and trails, landscape ecology and federal projects. Karina is a public speaker on the topics of conservation planning, low impact/sustainable design, vegetated roof design, cistern systems, and the ecological benefits of native plants. All projects focus on a sense of place and she educates government staff, homeowner associations and businesses on the importance on-site preservation, water conservation and the importance of native plants to increase biodiversity and reduce extinction rates.

Steve Niedergeses, RLA

Steve Niedergeses

With a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture, Steve has always been interested in the environmental. Following college, Steve went on to practice in south Florida working mainly on educational facilities, residential design, parks, and irrigation. He then moved to central Florida working mostly on hotel resort, time share, and commercial projects. Many of these projects have won prestigious ASLA and ARDA awards.

Steve’s diverse background and technical expertise leads to innovative solutions and the ability to look “outside the box”. Steve can also put together strong teams of professionals from various design and technical fields if needed to provide valuable expertise on projects.


Marc Godts

Marc Godts

Marc has 27 years of experience and recently retired from his position as Vice President of one of Florida’s largest landscape construction firms. His project management portfolio includes large scale themed resorts, education facilities, state and municipal projects, restoration plantings, hotels and streetscapes. His managerial approach keeps our team and clients communicating from concept to implementation of the final design intent.

As a horticulturalist, Marc owns a native plant nursery, has been involved with the Florida Native Plant Society for 23 years and produced rare plant surveys for The Nature Conservancy. Marc’s philosophy is to use native plants as the foundation of all landscapes to increase biodiversity and aid in the reduction of extinction rates.

Larry Teague, RLA

Landscape Architect

Larry Teague

With a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida, Larry has been practicing in both the private and public sectors since 1993. His involvement with a wide variety of projects including commercial centers, institutional facilities, residential developments, and community parks results in a thorough understanding of diverse client needs.

Larry is LEED Accredited and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council as indication of his emphasis on smart growth and sustainable design. His focus on site planning and design is complimented by native plant expertise and an insistence on achieving a sense of place.

Suzanne Kennedy

Ecological Scientist

Suzanne Kennedy

Suzanne is an experienced plant ecologist recognized for her endangered plant conservation work. She holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in botany and ecology from Florida International University, completed a landscape internship at Harvard University and studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.

She and two field technicians provide vegetation, wetland and wildlife surveys and monitoring, site preservation plans, environmental education, conservation policy and grant writing.

Suzanne’s goal for each project is to conserve and enhance the natural ecological processes of project site within the context of the surrounding ecosystem(s) and project parameters.

Don Spence

Urban Forester

Don Spence

Don develops Urban Forest Management Plans and is an expert Certified Arborist performing tree preservation plans during construction and post construction arboriculture. He also participates in NFC’s environmental educational projects. He has a BS in Biology from Stetson University and a Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida. Don achieved several honors, awards and leadership in Biology recognitions.

Don is significantly involved in the environmental field, is an Adjunct Professor at both Daytona Beach College and Stetson University, has completed 8 research projects and 3 publications.

Jennifer Rafferty

Urban Planner

Jennifer Rafferty

A Certified AutoCAD Professional, Jennifer has over 8 years of civil engineering and landscape drafting experience. She holds degrees in Computer Aided Drafting and Civil/Surveying Engineering Technology. With her civil engineering background and education, she brings technical experience and production support to landscape design projects, particularly streetscapes and site planning.

She is currently a senior at Rollins College, majoring in Environmental Studies/Growth Management. Her focus in work and school is conserving and protecting limited natural resources through sustainable design. She is a member of the Florida Native Plant Society and the Congress for New Urbanism.

Rene Fossey-Dary

Rene’ has over 20 years of experience in the field of marketing and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business/ Marketing from the University of Central Florida.

Rene’ is responsible for business development, client relations, and marketing for NFC Landscape Architects, Inc. and has a proven track record of success in development, and communications. Rene’s goal is to sustain business in the commercial, retail and municipal markets while maintaining our existing client relationships. Additionally, Rene assists NFC clients communicate that the design of beautiful landscapes can also save 50-70 % in annual maintenance costs.

Rene’ has won numerous awards for achieving and surpassing internal goals with Fortune 500 companies.
